Facebook for Filmmakers

Hi everyone.

A colleague and I got frustrated every time we were networking with film contacts on Facebook and a casual aquaintance would interrupt with a chat request, or we were distracted by someone flinging a cow at us. So we decided to start up our own filmmakers networking site. We've decided to keep it very simple.

It's only in beta form at present and only went online on Friday so most of the functions aren't there. But you can get a profile, request friendships, comment, private message, create discussion groups. Hopefully soon blogs, galleries, music uploads, event and classified postings.

And you never know at some point we may even allow flinging of Red cameras!

Stealth mode prevents that and you can still have contact with everyone.
 
Hi everyone. Thanks to the 190 people who joined us during the beta process :dankk2:
We've taken the site out of Beta as everything (apart from the friend finder, grrr!) appears to be working. We've also updated everything so everything works a looks a little better and added a few new features which you can have a play with :beer:

Maybe it's my browser but my first impression was, where's the logo? We need those now as consumers. Branding, branding, branding.
 
shooting a documentary on tequila. need archive footage of tequila in movies, old westerns, etc. any ideas where I can source that material

looks pretty awesome i might have to sign up. i hated facebook and the whole myspace thing so i deleted both but looking for a way to keep in touch. thanks alot.
 
Nice idea.

You could expand the profile types list to cover writers, technicians and so on. You could also add a generic type.
 
This looks cool! :)

I like that the blog aspect is more front and center than, say, a general forum. People have blogs here but I'd never really go out of my way to look for them, and you have people's newest blog entries right there under "blog" which is cool for people who are keeping online productions journals and want feedback (unlike here where you kind of have to sift through comments in User Films in order to find comments from the actual directors/producers on the project).

I'm positive I'll join up. I'd be better served keeping a production blog somewhere that I can interact with other filmmakers.

This feels more like DeviantArt, which I LOVE!
