F65: F65 Battery Power

Hi Dave

You can see more about my solution for the F65 on my big thread about the camera, but I use a solution from Hawk-Woods which is based around their 24V Reel Power system.

The system has a battery adapter which mounts on the back of the F65 and accepts either their Reel Power V-Locks, or a standard 24V ARRI/2-pin Fisher cable.

There are several advantages to this. First off a 24V system is much better off at providing power than a 12V, as less amp drain on the batteries. Secondly, the hawk-woods system provides both 12 and 24V, so you can power 24v accessories from the F65's 24v pass through. Finally, I recently bought quite a few film cameras and they were all 24V, so this system let me use 24V for everything. Also, 24V batteries are way cheaper than 12/24v simultaneous.

I am not sure of any other F65 owners on the forum, feel free to PM me if you want to know more

James
