F55: F55 Raw Workflow

Hey y'all,

After working predominately in Premiere, I've been playing around in FCP. I'm considering switching over due to Adobe's subscription model, which has me a little spooked.

Is there a solid workflow for working with 4k Raw in FCP and Davinci? I'm not happy with my first attempt, and would like to clean up the process.

+1 on switch from Premiere. I'm now the lone wolf in a 50 person group running FCX but on my last project i basically broke premiere. It took me almost two weeks of crashes to output a little 3 minute music video that was a combo of XAVC, Sony F5 RAW and a few seconds of R3D. A few text overlays from After effects of basic text animations.

I had tried everything, converting the XAVC and F5 Raw to prores, converting the raw down you name it i tried it. I ran my After effects stuff originally through dymamic link... the whol reason to use premiere and CC, then i went back to rendering with alpha channels.

AFter i finally rendered the project i listened to Chris Fenwicks podcast and did a lynda tutorial. My workflow has sped up immensely. I used to hate now love the magnetic timeline. I am working 4 times faster than i did in premiere.
 
I too have no plans of supporting Adobe's software rental program. I use CS6 and FCP X, and eventually Resolve 11.
