F55: F55 for sale

Typical dreaming seller - you'll save a massive $3,000 dollars or so! No thanks.
Yes, for a minute there Dennis I thought you were selling yours - I thought you might have some inside information on something new in the pipeline!

The good news for the seller is that when the market is not overly saturated with one model you never know how even a savings of $3000 bucks might be attractive to a potential buyer. But I hear what you are saying.

Today I saw an F3 and F35 listed for the same price. $5000. That's pretty interesting.

Which one would any of you guys take?

Madness! It's such a tough call. At that price I think I'd have to pick the F35, but I fear it'd be more of an ego choice than anything else - the F3 is so much lighter, so much more light sensitive, has a good two stop advantage in DR (albeit all in the shadows) and possesses the same HFR abilities that the F35 does, that dealing with size and weight of the F35 would mean spending significant money on a bigger tripod et al.

Oh well, I feel kinda relieved that I've given up on purchasing cameras. Owning an F3 it seems foolish to spend such large sums (even though they're shrinking rapidly) for slightly better image quality. It's all about lights and lenses for me now! (what a relief)

Sony B-stock seems to sell at street price less 10% from what I can see. I have seen eBay listings from at least two authorized Sony CineAlta dealers selling B-stock F5 and AXS-5 at about 10% off street, with full warranty. There is also another very good deal on eBay-- AXS-R5 + 2 cards + reader for $7750 OBO. That's about $1800 below street.

Hey Ned if you ever come across used R5 please let me know!

I'm hoping someone with an FS700 gave it a shot and realized the rocket launcher on their shoulder just wasn't for them.

It's Lenny Manfred. Solid working cameraman in Los Angeles. If you want it, make him a decent offer. He's not a thief.

hey guys, my ears were ringing. i listed it for 31k because it will cost me about $1,200 to sell it on ebay. but if you find me here, we skip ebay, and you pay with check or wire transfer, we are talking $29,500. is that better? and so you know the story, this is not my camera, is a b-stock camera that Sony let me borrow to test. It has not left my house. On sunday i will do a short with it, to test it out, and then i will either send it back to Sony or if I find a buyer before that, pass the savings to them. it will have the full year warranty and all. and as of tomorrow, it has all the latest upgrades (picking it up from Sony Service tomorrow).

and Nate, thanks for having my back. you are a good guy too.

i also have a set of the new Sony primes, if someone is interested. The metal one, 20, 25, 35, 50, 85 & 135. Also B-stock, but checked by Duclos.
