I was not at CineGear to get the NDA briefing so alas all I know is what the rumor site hints

Ned

You're wrong. Peter Crithary from Sony sent out a not-so-cryptic tweet earlier today about a BIG announcement for the CineAlta family happening tomorrow. Plus the source of the leak is http://www.creativeventures.be/ - a notorious (for leaks) Belgium Sony dealer, who leaked the FS7 II details days before the announcement last November.

Based on that, I'd take this "rumour" to be pretty solid.

There's no secret Sony have a few exciting cameras coming this year. And as they aren't afraid to unleash features as others are some interesting stuff will come.

Well it is going to be an interesting day. I believe that time zone translates into 9:00 pm tonight Pacific Time or midnight Eastern Time

Well what they really ought to do is fix the Cine EI system so you can adjust color temp. That would make the entire Sony system much more competitive. That's what I was hoping for in the FS7 MKII. Unfortunately I really love that you can use speedbooster with E mount and even if I liked the other features am not too keen on giving that up.

SonyAlphaRumours could have added the bit about the F5. In general, it could just be a successor to the current line.

Let's see tomorrow!

Well the opposition have played thier cards - nice evolutions to the fs7 - it is time for a 500 FPS monster - fingers crossed.

The 5 is old sony have had a long time to move it forward :)

According to Google it translates to 1pm EST, or 10am PST. ( so late tomorrow morning )

Google is telling me it is at 10 pm tonight Pacific Daylight Saving Time.

06.00 is 6 am in 24 hour time which is GMT plus 1 hour for continential european time. back up 9 hours to get Pacific Time and you have it at 10 pm tonight if you are on the west coast of North America.

3 hours and 35ish minutes till the start of the announcement.

I agree, however, I think one of the solutions to this would be to provide RAW as part of the main body of the camera with the variety of compression ratios that RED offers.

Be good to also see high frame rate acquistion that is not seriously compromised by inadequate inadequate memory buffers, processing power and compression schemes. To me this is where the next jump in camera tech from the major manufacturers should be heading along with an HDR solution with a reasonable workflow.

Not sure why people are worried about this.. surely you are shooting log in CineEI.. (Believe the presets to to maintain max DR).. and your footage will have a full grade... if not shoot custom and dial in what you want..they are two operate ways to shoot.. its like complaining that a Ferrari is noisy.. or a Bentley is too quite..
