The new Sony PMW-F5 is a terrific, great, fantastic camera.
I used it without the new 4K 16-bit external recorder (for sure it will be much more better).
The new firmware (when I used the camera it was not ready) provide immediate correction to the “black edge on highlights” issue reported by some users (take a look at the street lights in my video).
Enjoy!

Lovely stuff as always Filippo. Love how neutral you were able to get the colour-cast and skin tones on street-lamp lit streets - normally the sodium-vapour lamps turn everything that intense yellow colour.

+1

Lovely shots. Someone commented that it looked like F3 footage. I beg to differ. Had a feeling of much greater depth than F3.

Thanks guys!
Someone commented that it looked like F3 footage. As an F3 owner, I agree.
But the F5 is much more better in low light and it's a 4K camera ;-)

Gorgeous footage! Camera helped the low light, lens help to capture the beauty, but it takes a master to know how to put it together.
It looked like a miserable cold and dark night. Here in Miami we just had the coldest day of this winter at 48F and we complain how cold it is.
Heck, I'm shooting a commercial tomorrow morning at South Beach.

Trust me I've lost a camera at the beach, I know. I don't even get near the sand with the F3. I will be shooting by the Art Deco buildings and also facing the beach, but from a distance.
I'll post some of the girls modeling the leggings. I know, It's not easy to be shooting hard bodies on a Miami winter day, but someone has to do it. They may even appear to be excited to be in front of a camera.

I really like these shots. How did you use an EF lens on the F5 though?

Also, have you used the C100/C300 as well? How would you compare the F5 handles low light verses the C300?

I used the P+S Technik adapter.
The F5, in low light, is similar to the C300 but with a better on-board codec and a real 4K sensor and a 4K output.
