Sony's done some cool things with respect to the new F5/F55 I have to admit.

New accessories available are:

• Improved ViewFinder extension cable
• R5 extension cable (take your R5 off your camera if needed)
• Advanced ViewFinder cable for Sony LCD or OLED VF's (right angle connector on body instead of STRAIGHT OUT)
• FZ to PL mount connector with 12-pin lens connector
• FZ to B4 Adapter
• Locking ND Filter knob (free). Prevents accidental turning of ND knob.
• Optical 2k filter for HFR shooting
• CA-4000 Live 4k fibre adapter for F55 (provides fiber out)

I still can't believe Sony are keeping a straight face and charging for the HD/2K OLPF. By all accounts the camera performance without it is sub par, a bit of a smack in the face for the faith shown by early adopters who now have to pay almost $1000 to get the performance we where told to expect from firmware upgrades.

It is pretty laughable to call it an "advanced viewfinder cable"! Should be a "this one isn't crap" viewfinder cable!
I presumed that all new products shipping would come with the new cable, and the new locking knob, is this not the case? Would also definitely expect anyone who's already bought the camera to get a free trade in to the new items. Why can't they just admit that they screwed it up and have now put it right - I think it would get them far more appreciation than this.

...and another $800 for the OLPF. Giving a total of over $1200 to fix problems with the camera - and not, as they're trying to con people, to "improve" it!
Sorry, I don't have any agenda and don't own any camera at the moment so am not out of pocket - it just annoys the hell out of me and I feel for those loyal Sony customers that were early adopters.

Yesterday I asked Sony to give for FREE the OLPF to anyone who bought a F5/F55 prior to the 2k OLPF filter being announced.

There will be more noise soon. (haha get it? "noise")

Feeling optimistic Dennis? :)

No.

On a side note, I've contacted the folks at Mosaic Engineering who put out OLPF's for the Canon series to see if he can produce a lower cost version of it.

That doesn't remove the issue from existing - but at least it might be cheaper
