F5/F55 F&D Times report pdf download

YESSSSS!!! now we're talking, they DID learn their lesson... They gave it to Stargate studios to shoot with REAL DP's! finally.

Also looks like some serious shooting and gear out there. And furthermore the F55 can do 2x as much data internal than originally posted... for the INTERNAL CODEC it states 600Mbps!!!!

now thats freaking amazing. Really wouldn't need RAW all that much with that kinda internal recording. Thats awesome. I just hope they come out with a 4:4:4 internal upgrade at some point. But 10bit 4:2:2 4K at 600Mbps is pretty darn good for just about anything!

Yes, shooting to 4K 422 10bit in Slog makes raw more useless for many, if no most, projects. Renting the recorder seems to be a more practical path for owners.

Wow Sony's RAW toolkit reminds me of RED's toolkit, all the adjustments to tweak your RAW image you could ever desire! Kelvin, ISO, color space, saturation, brightness, contrast, RGB adjustments, etc... hopefully there are some rez tweaks too buried in there somewhere!

What else would you expect on raw? I mean not having this stuff would be a major omission

some method of at least burning a sky seems like an ommission as it is

get lightroom or c1 (or resolve?) and that defines the expectation set?

Ok, now that document really has my spirits up, especially part where the Sony engineers were out in the field programming the camera on the fly; you usually don't see the word Sony within a mile of that.
All that's left for money to come flying out of pockets is to see what the actual video is like, if they can deliver at least a 1080p file with Blu-ray level of compression (~35mbps), it'll be more than enough, for me at least.

Then again, someone should mention a thing called bit torrent to Sony, and that they should distribute their 4K reels that way. it would be completely amazing if they did that.

I just can't get over the photos of the camera shooting... it's just the camera, evf and a lens... that's all.

No Frankenstein's Bride concoction of wires and attachments all over the place, just a camera and a lens - what a relief it is to see that level of simplicity again!

A lightweight, compact and holistic camera system that gets everything you need onboard - that's the way cameras should be. I think I might be as excited by the form-factor as I am by the global shutter and recording options.
