I've got a shoot coming up soon that I'm considering using a gimbal stabiliser on. Wondering if anyone has any experience they could share about the combinations they've used? (particularly with the R5 attached to the camera)
With the Ronin, you definitely will need the arm extensions if you want to balance the F5 and R5 on it. My FS7 with nothing on it just barely balances with the stock Ronin. With the arm extensions, I can add things like a remote follow focus
I'd also say with any of them, you need some type of vest / support as it's really helpful to have a free hand for focus and changing settings. With the Ronin, since it's a bit heavy, I can only hold it for about 2 minutes before my arms shake. I got a fairly inexpensive Atlas Camera Support (Heavy weight version) and I can hold it for much, much longer and have two free hands if needed.
