F35 vs BM 4K vs GH4: resolution is not everything

Yup...white balance is way off on the last shot.
Yeah, I'm f*cking confused by that. No offense to the testers, as I'm sure they know more than me... But seriously, why was that last shot so blue?

To me the F35 looked the best, then the BMC 4k, then the GH4 (so the order they were posted)... But I can't look at the GH4 serious with the white balance thrown off like that. Call me a noob or something, but my eyes just aren't trained to adjust white balance along with looking at highlights, skin tone, etc.

Edit: I see he mentioned daylight white balance, but if I'm not mistaken you can adjust the color temp manually... I think that would've been best. I've only ever manually set the color temp in my GH2 (just assuming they didn't throw that feature away when upgrading to the GH3/4).

fair disclaimer: (only) timelapses rule out; they were not video recorded... ;)

And if people don't want to play with the settings on VLC player, there's always the chance to trust on a suitable grading previously done in order to make people to fight for saying they don't like it, I guess : D

I think maybe it's just a thing where the user (no disrespect) didn't have time to get to know the camera. That white balance thingy got me curious because Panasonic cameras (I've used for years beyond DSLR's) are always shooting in that "annoying" warm tone (where many call it the Panasonic "Mojo"). But here... it comes off like what I've typically seen from Sony cameras...bluish in tone. I've since seen enough GH-4 videos that a more orange-like and over-saturated to convince me...something's off in that last shot. jm2c

Indeed that's what I've been doing lately, setting up the WB to around 6500 instead of the daylight preset which I find too blue. Tht way is better.

Interesting. 6500K should render as quite warm. My Sony used to have a 6300K preset which I was quite fond of.
