F35 going for super cheap on ebay! Under 2 grand!

There was one for $2600 recently. Almost picked it up but didn't quite have the cash knowing I'd still need to kit it out. Will pick one up next year, or a used Alexa.

They raised the price probably after an increase in views/interest.

IIRC, it was $1900 last night.

Yeah it was $1900 last night when I shared this on here... those little sneaks... thats the second time ive seen someone do that with the F35 on ebay. Maybe we shouldn't share them anymore and they will stay cheap lmfao

They are much cheaper to get running than before. A body, battery plate, and an Atmos, and beautiful images right there.

Going 12bit is the thing that pushes up the price, a little. IF boxes are hard to come bu compared to other things. It can also be worth getting a cheaper evf, like the hdvf-20a or something. That way you never lose access to menus if you turn them off in the sdi outputs. I think most of us already have recorders and screens and evf’s. So that cost is possibly 0.

I’ve found the 10bit to be fantastic, so i never got a 12bit recorder. Thought about it, but the way i shoot with the f35 is all in camera. It has a more matural tone curve than other digital cameras, so i don’t need to push it in post. Really difficult to explain, but the way skin looks, and i am not talking colour, but texture, the skin has the right consistancy. Looks like it has thinkness and water content. Looks like skin. With the Alexa, itnis almost their, but the dual gain highlights look slightly unnatural at times, giving a very slight clay like texture. Almost all other digital cameras give skin a harsher look, almost like rubber. Less water content. The texture seems off.

^^^i am talking about subtlties above. Obviously with the right skills set, any camera can get gorgeous results. Some of the best cinematography i’ve seen has been done on the dvx100, 5dmkii, and Red MX.

Oh man.. that InDigEnt film November done on the DVX100... damn man! Still holds up today! I remember seeing that in the theater in 2005 on a 35mm print.

Hell yeah! Remember when DVXuser interviewed her for the film years ago or was that before your arrival?

I’ve been following dvxuser since the beginning.

Worked with Nancy, and think she has had an incredible career. Trailblazer!

Nobody in their right mind would buy a clearly un loved expensive item described as 'untested' for even a grand - are people stupid? It could be the buy of the year, if you already have the missing components, but it looks a wreck, could have fallen into the sea and been dried off. Only people with more money than sense would risk this one. One line of description. "Untested. Condition is Used. As is." nothing positive, that's a warning on a three figure price ticket - but at this price? I also note it says no returns - that too is revealing. not many feedback comments for the number of sales too!

I think as a whole buying these older cinema cameras are a risk and I think most buyers go into it knowing that. My F23 was a risk, and if it wasn't for my education in Teching at VER in Chicago, I wouldn't have known how to get my camera running perfectly. Every camera I've bought used I consider a risk because you are taking the word of the company or person selling it.. you have to have a tad bit of trust but not so much to where you are naive. I get what you are saying though. I hope for the sake of whoever buys it, it works fine or they know how to get it working.

OOOooooo so you might have remembered the "drama" of when I first landed here in 2003 as a 12 year old.... I was "Danny_Boyle" and had a PD150... pissed a few people off for my over questioning and temperament but hey, I was a kid, still in the beginnings of all that I know now... fun times lol.

That was you?!? What i remember was when a “Danny_Boyle” signed up and everyone called him Mike, and he was really confused. Idk, most of the early days reading, everything sounded like wizardry, and cool. It is all a blur.

That’s great!

If it doesn't sell for $1900 you might as well try for $4000...and then try again for $5200. LOL
