F35/F65 F35: Fixed Pattern Noise?

...basically, I mean that someone coming from a camera that can do iso12,800 clean, or 13stops DR in log, may have a hard time adjusting to thinking in iso400 terms for every scene, and be surprised that aren't getting any more DR than a Sony A series mirrorless. Just different times.

However, the way the F35 renders SOOC, is still unmatched, and its simplicity and ease of use is exactly what I enjoy in a camera.

I think I might have messed up some things in the test. I did some more today. Will look at them now. I think it's only a problem with very dark areas of the frame and exposing well will get rid of artifacts. I love this camera. It is in fact the ONLY digital camera I like. The only one that can tell a story with dramatic weight. I have an F65 as well and technically it is far superior to the F35. Aesthetically the F35 is a whole league above it. I am planning a project and didn't want anything like noise to ruin a big effort. But, I think I'm safe now, the problem is only in very underexposed areas. Man, I was very worried for a while.

Still considering to buy this camera vs Alexa Classic or Komodo. So would like to see your test shots, as many as possible. Any peace of the footage will make me happy :)

From testing I feel you actually get 13 stops usable if you want, 13.5 if you stretch it. If you ETTR that is.

I shoot the F35 like I would shoot film stock, and therefore I love the result. But you shoot it as an Alexa...it won't interact properly.

I bought it because I know what I was getting.

Swinging a Alexa EV or Komodo for production to pay could happen. But F35 get out. They would pay you more for a A7sIII sadly.

So like many others told me before....read up and buy it if you want.. :)

I wish I saw this back in 2020 yachacha, spot on.

Never take the 35 off of iso 400.

I grade in resolve because thats where I created my secret sauce for the F35 but I have been messing with https://colourlab.ai/ and when set up correctly I have noticed that their printer lights in the software do an incredible job digitally lowering stops going for that low light look with properly lit and exposed low grain footage, even tho in camera might not be the look you want you can stop down successfully in this software. You can probably do the same thing in resolve but I havent tested there. Use a light meter and make sure your contrast ratios are correcr for the look you want then stop down to get the exposure you want in grading. Blast as much light in there as you can. Thats the only solution so far I have found
