F3: F3 SLog Red is Orange

You need to elaborate more. I have shot TONS of F3 s-log footage in a wide range of conditions and have no idea what you mean. Post up an example for starters.

During the two years I had my F3 I found white balance to lean towards yellow in locked S-log mode but I never reflected about red not looking correct after grading.

Showing a graded version isn't really helpful in diagnosing an issue. Disregarding grading errors and as a wild guess, bright satiny cloth can easily clip one channel is you don't pay attention. When one channel peaks and the others don't, you get colour shifts.

Okay well either use their default color matrix or work in post w s gamut to fix the issue of remapping colors. My solution is quick and easy . there is no one forcing the user to use s gamut as the color gamma . You can use whatever gamma you want as a starting point. It worked for me on a national commercial.

Can't say I ever noticed any serious issues with red shooting SLOG on my F3.

The red looks red to me:

It's been a couple years but wasn't there a option between the paid S-log where you have less options and the "internal" free one where you could pick Custom or profiles, essentially opening a can of worms for how color was rendered? I know thats a vague description but I know the paid ver. was less accident prone.

Try and play around with the different modes, slog, Hypergamma, custom etc. But note that due to slog's huge color space you NEED a LUT to bring the colors into place - simply grading from scratch is demanding and will often result in the red's looking orange... or slog combined with a wrong LUT
My favorite (as so many others): Shoot in Cine Ei (not custom) slog3.cine, shooting with a LUT on your monitor - and then apply the Sony LC709TypeA LUT in post - done - no orange reds there IMO.. Hope it helps.

This looks heavily graded to warmth . Show original footage if you want help evaluating - or better run test w red in it & post that . This is pointless to discuss otherwise

I think that beach shot looks great - I shoot flat s log s gamut all the time - orange is just desaturated red - or I think so. You can fix in post or choose a color matrix that pops the red channel more.

Thank you for the suggestions, especially the PP suggestion as I have not tried a test with that.
Again, I cannot find any post or reference relating to this issue.
