F3 sharpness

I've had my F3 for quite a while now and have been very pleased with the look. Recently, I've been unhappy with the sharpness and detail. (mostly shooting with the F3 kit lenses).

I've been mostly using Abel's Cine-gammas which have no settings changes for sharpness that I've noted.

Before I go digging too deep, I am scratching my head about other things I need to check....I know the EX1R had a service menu for adjusting backfocus, etc.

p.s. I may just be having a side-effect from looking at too much Epic HDR stuff! ;-)

Are you finding the image your getting too "soft" for your liking or too sharp?

You don't need to use sharpening, but if you choose to use it, do it in post where you can control it.

Just my own experience, but I found that if you you go into the details setting and use -25, the image was very creamy, smooth and sharp looking all at the same time.

my money is on a misadjusted kit lenses.

The F3 is too sharp for most situations. I've never used so much promist in my life.

How can the kit lenses be misadjusted? I would think infinity would be effected, but not sharpness, but I'm certainly not a lens pro.
As for settings, I've been using Abel's Cine profiles--usually HILITE or RANGE.
