elegant shots of NY city from across the river; finally someone who is not only interested in shallow depth of field.

Chuck Fishbein: "This is my first NYC test with the Sony F3 camera using an MTF adaptor and Tamron 300 2.8 lens. I am shooting from Weehawken NJ about a mile and a half from the Chrysler Building. It was 6:15 PM on March 11 so it was relatively dark during the shoot. The camera was set at 6db. There was a 10mph wind."

This really seems to be the sweet spot for exposure on the f3 - all the shots I see exposed like this (ie: a wee bit under-ish) look really great! Like for example most of the tones in those shots are around the 30IRE range. (just quickly sweeped over the images with the mac digital color meter) The color just feels really nice in those areas of exposure...

there is an amazing moment, the shot of the Empirestate building, where you can see the tourists walking around on the observations deck. Capturing small details like that is what makes this camera so amazing.

I know, I'm surprised how many NYC early adopters we have. PM me if you'd like to take it for a spin. I'm going out a few times a week to pick up city shots at different times of day. You're welcome to join and shoot a bit.

Looks good. The building on the left (first shot) is the Viacom building, where I worked at MTV for 3 years. There's so much detail in the shot that you'd be able to see my old office if it wasn't on the other side of the building...
