F3 Mod- is anyone actually doing this?

I thought you meant the whole camera it's self...Didn't notice the apostrophe. Sorry mate. Yes, I agree the VF is garbage. I pulled mine off. Damn... reading too fast...

wait. now I am confused. I are we talking about the REAR VF or the LCF VF on the side? if its the REAR, yeah, biggest waste of space ever.

I just removed the diopter part and covered glass with small piece of mouse pad type foam and capped it with wristband sewed at one end. Stays out of the way.

Over at DVinfo someone did pulled the whole thing off.

haha, that makes WAY more sense. then I completely agree. I pulled mine off too. taped over it with gaff tape.

I thought about surgically removing the rear VF like the guy at DVinfo did, but decided it really isn't in the way.
I suppose it's sorta like a sixth toe, doesn't do much good, but you can live with it. And if it really bothers you, keep a sock on it like Dallas does...which by the way, makes it look like a surround mic for the rear channel.
