F3: F3-Hyperdeck Shuttle 2

Hi all;

I was recording on hyperdeck shuttle 2 without any problem untill the hdsdi-in port broken. so i switched to hdmi port. My problem is hdmi feed records camera display characters as well. I couldn't figure out how to fix it? Anyone can give me a guide?

From the F3 you can record from either the SDI out or the SDI A-port. The difference for me is that the SDI A-port does not work with overcranking in 720p. The HDMI-out is 8bit I think. So if the SDI on the hyperdeck is broken it might be a problem. Otherwise just switch to the SDI OUT and turn of display for that and you get a clean image, thats how I record.
 
Ahh cheers, i just switched display output off and everything is fine:)

yess the sdi input broken on hyperdeck shuttle so the only option for me is hdmi, the port broken because of the heavy hdsdi cable. And unfortunatley as far as i am concern you can't record to hyperdeck shuttle 720/50p overcranck footage from f3

Just to clarify:

The HDMI out from F3 is 8bit, so you lose the arguably biggest gain with recording external.

If you shoot from SDI OUT you can overcrank 720/50 or 60p no problem. Thats what I do and it recognise the signal automatically.
