F3 & Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 Remote Triggering

I can't for the life of me get my F3 to trigger the Shuttle2. Update is complete. I set the option to record DNxHD QT and SDI trigger. On the F3 I set the record out to "Synchro Rec" as stated in the manual. I can record and playback via SDI just fine by manually starting the Shuttle so the SDI connection is live. I've tried everything else I could think of and it won't control the Shuttle.

UPDATE:
I was able to get it to work only when setting the Shuttle to "trigger recording when SDI timecode runs." And this only works when I have a card in the camera. I would love to have it trigger "When SDI start/stop is detected" and when there isn't a card in the camera.

Any help appreciated! :)

And don't forget to recycle:

Of course it's up to you how you prefer to shoot, but I would not want to trust the Hyperdeck as my only recorder (or the Pix 240 which I also own). I don't always keep the internally recorded XDCam files, but I don't throw them out until I have made sure I have what I want from the external recorder.

This does not answer your question - but I was not aware the F3 would send a record trigger, or generate record run timecode, without a SxS card in the slot. And with remaining capacity on the card as well. Are you sure it's supposed to do this?

HD SDI Remote I/F is what I meant for record trigger. Don't have the Shuttle. Sounds like you have all correct. Time to call Blackmagic?

Thanks Paul it help

Yeah I think you're right about having a backup running at all times, I just thought that other users were able to trigger the hyperdeck without a sxs card inserted and was wondering if I was doing something wrong.
