F3: [F3-F5-F55] Petion to metabones for fz mount eos speed booster

I wrote them some time ago and asked for this adapter. Never got a reply. Interesting that so many others see the advantages; and, a management mistake if metabones doesn't see them, as well..

I believe the FZ mt is too short to accommodate the optics . Also no alpha to NEx E mt for same reason. . Don't waste your breath . If you want to petition for something - try to get someone to make a Nikon adapter that brings power to the image stabilization . Nikon lenses all offer smooth iris changes w an adapter .

The mount surface to focal plane distance is the same for an FZ mount or an E-mount. It's a trivial machining exercise to make a Speedbooster to FZ adapter. And there's a ton more Canon EOS lenses being used than the somewhat ubiquitous Nikon lenses. perhaps an enterprising machine shop can buy the optics from metabones and make their own mount. BTW, even if the FZ to focal plane was shorter, it's a simple procedure to add a spacer. The dela breaker would be only if the FZ mount to focal plane distance was too great. You can always add separation, you can't take it away. That's why PL mounts look so weird. The lens objective has to extend beyond the PL mount surface.

What will not work is to try to adapt an e-mount lens to FZ. It can probably be done, but, it would be some tricky(and expensive) engineering.

Thanks Conurus. Seems they are working on this. If they are, would like to thank them and say i will wait for the finished product.

Adapting speedbooster to F series cameras (FZ mount) requires removing the cover glass from the camera cavity, machining opening in the front of the camera body. And, possibly, removing the ND filter wheel (from the F5, 55).
There are a few F3s modified that way and I made some adapters for them. I do not recommend that however...

Thanks Jacek, I seem to remember that it was not technically possible , but I guess that's why.
On another front, Do you know if it would be difficult to make a Nikon adapter that carried power to the image stabilization? I'm thinking for any of these cameras though these days I'm working with Sony NEX E mt.

BTW _ If anyone is looking for a Nikon Prolock FZ adapter I have one for sale. - moved from F3 to FS7.

I wish Metabones prove you are wrong. Maybe the optical element could be more closely to the lens with a small reduction of the coeficient. I love the fact Metabones is such an independent company. If for my future F55 will have one of this i will have :

- cheap 1.2 lenses
- wider
- F 2.0 zooms

Imagine how much money that little small adapter will spare for me. I really hope to see one ALIVE in the nearby future.
