F23 & SRW 1 SR Motion Ramping

I finally got a lemo cable to properly power everything and all works great. Question I have is i cant seem to get the ramp feature on the camera to go higher than 24fps when in S23.98 or S24 mode 444 on the camera. The SRW1 has all the proper boards installed to ramp at 4:4:4 1-60p so what is my moronic self doing wrong here to where its not working?

No, 23.976 is the playback speed and whatever you choose between 1 and 60fps is the shooting speed. Try it, you won’t break the camera. That’s exactly how I shot the cloud time lapse mentioned in my other thread on F65 testing.

I only mention this because i did a test with the ramp lastnight when i got home from work quick and when set to S60psf 4:4:4 and the frame rate set to 24 ramping to 60, 24 was moving as undercrank not normal speed.

I don't know that camera, but make sure you're not confusing system frequency with framerate and base/timeline rate.

Obviously you're not new to this, but you want 60 OVER 24. 60fps over a 24p base. What you said above sounds like (to me) you're shooting 24fps on/under a 60p base, which would of course produce the results you're seeing.

Also, (as you know too) some older cameras only allow certain framerates in certain resolutions. Did you try at 720p?

The f23 is a 1080 res camera only. I will do more tests in a little bit and report back later tonight :)

True, true.

Also quickly read this...seems like maybe 444 is limited to 30p? IDK.

Nevertheless, good luck.

realized a totally spaced on replying to this one. With the right boards installed the 23 can do 1-60 in 444 and the SRW that i had had all the correct boards installed and even at 422 it was 1-30 but in 23.98 or 24 as its native speed, it wouldnt go past 24 so 1-24... strange. if you put the native speed at 59.94 or 60 then 24 reacted as undercrank material.
