I think the GH4 EVF is really good. Philip Bloom thought the LCD was even better when using a Z-Finder, but I tested with my Z-Finder and I wasn't that impressed. I see a lot of pixels with the Z-Finder and not sure it focusing is any better. It's a bit bigger view but the inconvenience of having the Z-Finder stuck on the back may outweigh any advantages.
However the EVF eyecup, though better than the Canon 5D MK III - its still uncomfortable and lets light in when pressed up to my face. I have a number of cups, including a SmallHD accordion-like eyecup that I use for my C100, and together with a Blue Star chamois it works ok, it's just a little far away as I have to press my face up really hard against to see the whole EVF display. I could probably get the SmallHD eyecup to work if I trimmed it a bit and made it closer to the EVF, but I just wanted to see if anybody else has considered this issue and might have a solution.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
