Okay, just been notified that our Letus Extreme/HVX Hallows Fest film is going to be included. It's not in competition, it's exhibition only because the film can't be cut to fit the runtime restrictions, so it's just for exhibition.

But hey, it's HVX footage with the Letus Extreme, so...

(oh, one other thing: it was shot by Macgregor.)

Glass makes all the difference.
Took the plunge and purchased a Nikon 35 1.4 and an 85 1.4. It's like having a new system. It's more than a stop I purchased. The sharpness and contrast is amazing. The bokeh on the 85mm is precious. Will post in the coming week.

Did you order a Letus EX, Naylor?

That i going to look NUTS.

Wow! Best footage from the LEX yet! No question, the potential to create incredible images with the HVX/LEX combo is now here!

Can't wait to get mine!

I know! Ultra satisfieid. I was hoping that the HVX would look just as good as the A1 and it does. My LEX arrives tomorrow!! wee.

Oh WHATEVER. Can't blame me for being overtly "interested" in the product. That's what you get for posting great footage in the first place.

PFFFT I'm going to play with my sand shovel.

Barry, tell me you were just kidding about that short being shot with the hvx/letus combo.I mean it looks like an exact replica of film.I hope my a1 looks as filmic with the extreme as that short does.

Develop excellent cinematography skills, an excellent knowledge of lighting, good set design, great looking actors, etc., etc., and you will be able to make it look as good with the A1 :)

Barry,

Excellent film. As far as everyone's concern about the Extreme's image, take a look at this film and see for yourself.

That was shot by Macgregor on an HVX200 using the Letus Extreme and some Nikon lenses. No doubt, the adapter holds up on its end of the bargain. Now, it's not all because of an adapter, of course, but as adapters go I'm very, very happy with how the Extreme performed, I think it really delivered.

The credit for the look of the film is only partly due to the adapter, most of it is due to the art direction, Macgregor's cinematography, and the post color grading. You have to have excellence in all those categories. But the Extreme definitely helped take what would have been an otherwise great-looking short, and raised it up by giving it the depth of film.

Also, Barry. I'd be interested in whether you have photos of MacGregor's rig? Would be nice to see how people are using the LEX since there have been so few rig photos thus far.
