Extreme Shipping!

i would love to pick up all my lenses at 1.4 but alas, the price makes this unrealistic. However if my knowledge serves me correct, shooting at 2.0 will produce a sharper image as it is a film photography lens ( stepping down creates sharper images unlike the cine master primes which are made to be open ) so if i just make sure i dont buy anything slower than 2.0 i think i should be a happy camper in all respects.

mind you, i wonder how fast i can go when i get to 105mm and 135mm? I see them mostly at 2.5 and 2.8, what did you end up with DCP ?

Kholi,

Thank you so much for your comments. It was a little tough since I only had my DP, my company partner (also one of the actors) and myself (and I'm in the film as well and I'm directing too). I'm really looking forward to the rest of the shoot (spread out over the next 7 months).

This is an inevitable question but I'll ask it anyway. Any chance you can post a higher rez version? It's hard to really see the quality of the adapter at this size.

I will post a higher rez clip. What size would you like?

I won't be able to do it until Sunday (I'm working straight through till tomorrow evening).

I will output the footage as a quicktime file (I'll just match the DVCPRO HD 720p size).

That file up there now is the one I made for my iphone.

Order #367, baby!

I'm wondering if by then there will be some blood on my adapter from the hours getting these things assembled ;)

Looking forward to it - Hien and Quyen have hit a gold mine.

Yup they have I am number 368!!!

It really depends on the lens more than the adapter I've learned over the past couple of years. I have experienced near edge to edge sharpness with the Extreme and the parts that are not tack sharp at the edges are outside the TV safe zone anyway.

Sometimes, it's hard to discern whether the lens is doing the dirty work or the adapter. Would the best to test be to attach the best quality to the adapter, in which case say Zeiss SuperSpeed's or something like that? I'd expect to exhibit little-to-no edge loss in comparison to Nikon SLR lenses. At that point, is it safe to judge the adapter's edge-to-edge quality?

I was told they're shipping mid-week via FedEx ground (letusdirect.com)....

Other than the wait its been excellent customer service.

This thing is gonna blow up once people start getting theirs. I looked on B&H and they're already offering the Letus line.

Yeah, they must be about to ship, Hien just emailed me about my payment. I've had a problem with paypal: although I paid on October 9th and have #304 order, they won't receive money until October 31th, so I'll have to wait for a couple of weeks :(

Regards and enjoy...

Not to go off subject again, but I apologize for those waiting to see the footage from the crane shot with the 24mm lens (Brevis). I've been so busy getting ready for my next shoot (and I WAS HOPING that my Letus Extreme would be here; btw I was the second one to order from letusdirect!- ordered Oct. 24th). I am looking forward to the Extreme, but I do have to say that I was extremely pleased with the Brevis.

I will post the Brevis footage (as a new topic) once I get the chance.

I really was hoping that I'd be able to give the Letus Extreme a serious test (crane and dolly shots using from a 24mm lens up to 180mm lens). Next time I'll get the chance.

Todd
