Extreme rolling shutter for higher quality?

Would it be possible to increase the resolution of a HDSLR by using even more rolling shutter? If the camera records a bigger line, but slower, would that use less processing power? So you could have say 3k but twice as much rolling shutter?

Sure, you could just take a series of stills and achieve a roughly similar effect!

Otherwise, no- even with Magic Lantern and other modifications, we still don't have access to the processor that controls which pixels are accessed off the sensor. If we did, there would be a ton of work done to alleviate moire and aliasing already.

Also, I think you are mistaken in assuming that rolling shutter and resolution are necessarily related. I think the speed of the sensor is the same regardless of how many of its pixels you are recording at a time.
