Extra Tall Shirt Question?

Hi guys,
unusual question..
about to get some new shirts to logo.

A couple of my crew are big guys annd need Extra Tall size shirts (like 2XLT & 4XLT) which makes it hard to find all matching shirts since the rest of us are regular L and XL.

So I'm wondering if someone that normally wears an XL can wear an XLT (tall) and just tuck the longer shirt in. When working in the field, my shirt tries to come untucked anyway so maybe a longer shirt would be better.

Here's an idea of shirt I'm looking at:

Often tall-sized shirts have longer sleeves as well. Even in the short sleeve variations. They can get a bit of a "football quarterback" look if you wear one and just tuck in the excess. Not to mention the placket is going to be a little longer so the ratios are going to look a bit off.

I'd talk to your embroidery company about getting all the same shirt model in both tall and non sizes. They can usually help out a ton with that kind of thing vs. buying off the rack.

This.

Just be aware that color selection is extremely limited once you add specialty features:
- long sleeves
- breast pocket
- 3XL and above
- tall cut
- Euro-soft/soft-style fabric

Any one of those will cut color choices on its own. Combine them and you're down to a handful of options.

I've ordered more tee shirts over the last 14 years than I care to recall.

Thank you very much. Yeah I checked with a local embroidery company first and we couldn't get all those sizes in the same color. I'm wanting a pale gold. So I searched online and found a couple companies that could do all the sizes in tall. But I haven't found anyone yet that can do L XL XLT XXLT XXXXLT in the same model or color. Some companies have different model lines with the same color name but whether or not they actually match is a question.

The problem is finding the Tall versions and regular versions in the same shirt / color.
I don't want everyone looking goofy just so the two big guys look ok. But I can't have the big guys with shirts too short either. Haha

Bear in mind that sizing doesn't always run true; There have been a couple times I received polos that ran a size or two larger than advertized.

Thanks everyone. I found a place that has regular and tall in the same shirt model and color. Going to cost more of course, ;)

I don't know how many times I've seen this: a company only has XL/XXL logo gear and then "normal" size guys look like slobs or crack-heads that got their clothes at the homeless shelter. I don't know how much nice logo'd gear I have in my closets that I can't wear, because everyone thinks that all guy wears XL. Also, not everyone tucks their shirts in. I've recently gone back to wearing dry-fit type polo/golf shirts(UA & Nike) when I'm on a shoot, unless it's a complete outdoor/working your @$$ off shoot, and I do not tuck my shirt-tail in(kind of depends on the person's age, too).

And I agree that sizes can vary among the different manufacturers and even among the same manufacturer if they have different styles/cuts. See if you can get samples and have your guys try them on.
