External recording

Is it correct that on Canon 5D MKII, the video signal that comes out for external monitor from the camera is not true HD – in fact it is limited to 480?
Is this correct. also, that it does not put out the same full resolution image to the 'external monitor' that it records to the Memory CF Card.

Also, please clear me if Panasonic DMC-GH2 has clean HDMI output, and its possible to record HDMI video via a nanoFlash type recorder/player.

After release of a new firmware 1.1, does the GH2 record the video @ 1080 p 24fps for broadcast quality videos.

Thanks
[Please keep in mind that I am new to HDSLRs and learning videography.]

Can't confirm GH2, but yes, you are correct on 5D. The processor can't handle the load of recording the 1080P and outputting it to the HDMI at the same time. That's why it's never been "fixed" by firmware. The 7D manages it by having dual processors and a smaller sensor. Same reason 5D can't record 60 fps. 60 fps from a 21MP sensor would overwhelm the processor.

is there some one who could confirm the ext. monitoring or recording on DMC-GH2.

I am about to get one HDSLR this month, either 5d Markii or DMC-GH2.

i read that external monitor or recording for Video/Movie has some issues on GH2. What is shown on the ext. monitor, when added as a field monitor via HDMI cables/output, is different from what is recorded on the memory HDSC cards. There seems to be some Green Frames appearing during the video/movie recording. What is the actual issue here and how to deal with that?
