External monitor through SDI troubles . . .

Hi guys!

My monitor is a Marshall V-R104DP-HDA.
I can't seem to get my external monitor to recognise the SDI out of my AF-105.
I've fiddled around with the A/V out settings and I cannot seem to get anything that works.

I am recording at 1080 60i. SDI out is on.
I have tried two different SDI cables.

I can use an S-Video to RCA with the same monitor and Af-105, but the output looks dirty and grainy. (I assume this is because of the conversion?)

I have previously used the same monitor on an HVX through composite and it looked lovely. I was hoping the SDI out would do the same.

You do know that the BNC connectors on your monitor are for Component Video, NOT SDI, correct. You need an actual SDI input- what you are plugging into is analog Y, Pb, Pr that use the same connector as SDI- which is BNC.

Can you take a look? I'm not using the Y, Pb, Pr connection. Here's a shot of the back:

Taking a browse through the manual for my monitor I see what you mean. Thanks guys! I don't think a converter is in my future. Maybe I just need a monitor upgrade. :]

That port is for composite video. You could connect the af100's yellow video output to it (using a bnc->RCA adapter). It would work but won't be HD.

It's pretty straight forward if it don't say SDI, there's a big chance it's not SDI... Just sayin'
