GH4 External monitor question

i'm having trouble getting external monitors to work. I have a DP4 and a TV monitor which i use regularly with my AF100, but i can't seem to get either to get any signal at all. I've tried adjusting the TV connection settings and the HDMI record settings. i get nothing. just the same prompt from both devices: No signal. obviously i'm missing something. any suggestions would be appreciated.

My DP4 works fine. Cinema 4k 24hz is fine on DP4. make sure HDMI rec output that the 4k down convert option is set to auto. If no settings work then its your cable.
 
thanks. i bought new cables specifically because i didn't own and MICRO-HDMI cables. two different ones. i can't get color bars to be visible either. perhaps something is wrong with my HDMI output on the camera.

H just wondering if you have resolve the HDMI external monitor connection problem? I'v just tried my GH4 and have the same issue.
However I have just tried connecting to a Vierra monitor which worked fine. My DP4 doesn't connect, nor my Blackmagic mini studio recorder.

Any help would be most appreciated.

I struggled with it for 3 days, and it's not complicated. i ended up calling both small HD and my retailer for assistance. i eventually sent it back to the retailer and they couldn't get an external monitor to work either. so at least i wasn't crazy, something was wrong. they ultimately replaced the camera with a brand new one.

I just got it back yesterday and only had a few moments to try it out, but i did get it to work. when i first plugged my DP4 into the camera i had the same issue
(No Signal).
When i plugged my DP1x directly into the new camera it worked right away. i then tried to pass the DP1x thru the DP4 to see if that might work. it didn't work on the first try, but then it did. like i said, i only had a few moments to play with it, but I think there is a sequence for which device needs to be turned on first. either the camera must be on and you turn on the DP4 or the DP4 has to be on first. i can't remember which. but i was able to use the DP4 and pass the signal thru to the DP1x and both work perfectly.
HALLELUJAH! don't give up. lol.

I've now got my DP4 to work if it's powered on first, then camera. But cannot get the Blackmagic mini studio to connect, I'll see if there are any software updates!
