External monitor for 5DmkII ?

I just cut a quick vid demonstrating the Marshall. Shot it with the 5D Mark II. Depends on the kind of shooting you do as to which one you might want. The IKAN 5.6" is sweet for all around - light enough to keep in your bag all the time - even with a battery. The Marshal is nice for run and gun quick focusing with peaking/pixel to pixel. In studio, I'm using the IKAN 17" HDMI - full raster 1920x1080.

any links to buy the marshall?

Just did a music video today with the 5D mkII. I also had the HVX200 there. I only ended up using that for camera for four 60p shots. The 5D mk II was unbelievable - especially being able to control the f stop by slightly twisting the lens.

For the HDMI version with a Panasonic battery plate, you're looking at less than $1000 in the DVcreator's DVeStore. http://www.dvcreators.net/marshall-electronics-7-lcd-monitor/
Use the coupon code "take5"

It's arm is the one they sell on the website (Bogen). it's kind big and heavy. The rails set-up looks like Red Rock. not sure about the FF

The 5dmkII has a HMDI output, but unfortunately it reverts to VGA resolution while recording. Not enough horsepower to record, compress, and output full-resolution at the same time.

This post kind of got glossed over with no responses, but it seems like a relevant point. Doesn't this fact make it somewhat pointless to get an HD monitor for a MKII? Or do you get full HD output when it's NOT recording and people fell like that's all they need?

It's a drag that it does this, depending on what you shoot it may not be much of an issue. Sit down interviews for example. For me, runnin' n' gunnin', I use the Composite out. It does not get stretched low rez look when you hit record. Using the Marshall, I set up my shots and review shots in HD. If I'm constantly moving, I go Standard def composite and use the Red Peaking for focus.

here's my 5d with Manhattan LCD and tekkeon battery
the monitor is light enough to go to hot shoe adapter as well
