Im using a Rode NTG2 and for some reason the mic is being picked up but i cant here it through my headphones. I've tried every variations between the audio switches to my knowledge and even put a AA battery in the mic. Any help is greatly appreciated. Im sure it's a simple thing but my manual is at my other house.

If you have a DVX100B go into the menu system open "Other Functions" and see if the HP setting is on live. Make sure your headphones are plugged in. Make sure you set audio switches to channel 1, mic with phantom power on for channel 1

yeah im using a DVX100A and there is no HP seting

Make sure you've got correct settings, like:

On the front of the camera, whichever input you have the mic in (1 or 2), set the input to MIC instead of LINE

Under the LCD, set the Ch 1 Select to INPUT 1 or INPUT 2, wherever you have it

Don't forget that there is a headphone volume control on top of the camera body, below the handle. It says -AUDIO MON/VAR+

i figured it out. All i need to do was set both of the inputs to CH2 and it picked it up. Thanks for your time and suggestions.
