GH4 external hard drives for editing

I was hoping to receive some advice on which external hard drive to buy for editing. Right now my workflow has been importing video clips directly into computer's storage and going from there.

I just got back from Europe and have more data to work with than I'm used to. I'm looking to buy an external but don't know which one would be good to edit with.

Are there any simple thunderbolt connection hard drives, that I can just plug into the iMac, transfer videos from sd card to that hard drive, and then import from that hard drive into FCPX and begin editing?

1 TB storage would suffice. Not looking to spend a crazy amount.

would something like this be a good choice? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1058374-REG/lacie_9000488_rugged_v2_1tb_thunderbolt_u3.html

You might get by with that, but I'd go for a faster drive, something with at least a 7200rpm rotational speed. Thunderbolt is excellent, but USB 3 is perfectly fine for editing in my experience as well.
