External Deck

Is it possible to record HDV footage using an external deck but still utilize the 24p function of the DVX? I'm guessing that the deck will not be able to do the pulldown needed. I have a portable HDV deck and a DVX so i'm just curious if this is possible.

If you wanted a 2nd DV tape backup of what you're shooting in standard def. Just consider the imaging sensor of the camera. It's not HDV.

I don't know why you'd want to but you'd have to have an inline converter to up-rez or 'bump-up' the SD signal to HD. Then it would get dumbed-down to HDV for the deck's sake.
