External BlurRay Burner Advice

Looking to pickup an external BlurRay burner. I'm not very "savy" on what to look
for so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what about the data for BlueRay discs? What is recommended? Sizes
available? Price? etc.

Hi mdslammer,
I just picked up a Sony BWU-300S and an external enclosure here in Australia.
Seems a good unit does 25Gb single and 50Gb double sided Bluray discs.
I have a 16 and 32Gb P2 cards and was hoping I can use it for Data backup
hopefully at a total of 48Gb should fit on one 50Gb disc.

With one of these burners can you produce a true HD DVD?

I've read that Sony has done something to the encoding to make it something less than HD...perhaps that was bull-poo.

Can one burn HD from Final Cut and DVD studio pro or will you need another app such as Toast?

You will need another app to burn a Blu-Ray disc.
