External audio....

Ok I am using my HVX for events now. Everything is going great but...I want to capture external audio with some kind of portable field recorder. Can anyone recommend any? I was looking at this one(any suggestions):

I am sure that would work just fine. Another option, one that I use, is a laptop with a small protools rig. Laptop doubles as an offload computer.
