Hello,
I am prepping for a short film and I did some F35 testing at different apertures to see the way the sensor was responding.
Key is window light - f4
Fill is from lamp backlight. f2
Noise is acceptable 1 stop under in the blacks and shadows IMO... at f8 the noise gets distracting but some denoising might work well. I do find the noise from the F35 to be pleasing, so I would shoot 2 stops under for the key if I wanted an extremely gritty look.
Shot on CineEI - Exposure with meter on incident - MacGregor Alexa LUT 400 applied - CC to match exposure to f4. Saturation and color balance changes as exposure is decreased as expected. Matching gets hard.
Thanks for looking and if you have any personal impressions on this test, or on the way you have exposed, please don't hesitate to share your insights!
Cheers,
Rick
