Exposure Shift

I noticed an abrupt exposure jump while doing a pan. The pan went from inside a brightly lite natural light kitchen to pointing outside through glass french doors. All of a sudden the images jumps brighter in exposure... I am using the Lumix 14-140. I am thinking there must be an auto exposure thing going on? Could it be I have auto white tracking on?

Thanks,

Auto-exposure has gotten me several times now. Push it to expose and then you have to remember to push again and it takes it to manual. Little abrupt changes in brightness right? I have the 14x140 also.

Were you perhaps zooming in or out at the time? That lens iris in that lens "breathes" when zooming.

Yes abrupt changes in brightness... Honestly I did know about the expose button but did not know it stayed auto. Nice to know... It was driving me crazy... I will try it on another interior I am shooting tomorrow... One day I hope to be more helpful to others and not as needy as I have been... Thanks for that!!!

GH2 sudden exposure shifts

I've been having the same problem with sudden shifts in exposure while either panning to a brighter or darker spot, or when zooming. Where is the auto exposure button you're speaking of?

that would be the iris button... when you push it you will see the LCD tell you what mode it is in...

Seems like a dumb question, but where is the iris button? Do you mean the rear dial that you push to change between shutter and aperture settings?

The Iris button on my camera has the word 'IRIS' written right next to it in white lettering.

It will be reffered to as Iris in the User manual as well.

Where s the iris button. Do you mean the rear dial that switches between aperture and shutter? Or is there some other button?

My bad--I see you guys are talking about the AF100, not the GH2. I saw the 14-140 lens at the top of the discussion and thought it was the GH2. Good to know it's solvable on the AF100. Maybe I'll need to upgrade.
