Exporting

I've exported video with Final Cut before. I shot everything on the DVX100A, most everything is 24p, edited 30fps. I'm trying to export to the highest quality. I have two export questions:

1. I need to export a scene to a visual effects artist. He needs the highest quality possible, because he'll edit it, save it, and then I'll import it into the timeline and save it again, so with all this recompressing and resaving, I want to be sure he gets the highest quality image. How do I do that?

2. When the whole project is done, I'll want to export it to fit on a DVD with a menu. It's feature length, and I'll add a menu, commentary, subtitles, etc. What's the best way to export the whole project for DVD quality that'll fit on the DVD with all the bonus features and menu?

You cannot export to a higher quality than your sequence settings.

1. Absolutely need more information. Exporting a sequence for distribution is different than editing a sequence for editing. What will the FXs editor be using to edit?

2. For a DVD, export QT/Current Setting/Audio and Video/No recompression/Self Contained. Use the Compressor preset that matches the total length of the video in minutes.

Yes, I understand that you can't get more than the uncompressed DV footage allows, thank you. However, I've tried various methods and ran into various levels of success and failure. Without deinterlacing, I get digital lines. With deinterlacing, it get ghosting in motion (blurry edges when people move). With straight "export to quicktime," I get lousier image quality than if I use animation or others. I'm trying to find the best option.

He's an effects editor. He'll be using After Effects.

Current setting appears to give less quality results than, say, animation, which leads me to believe something is off.

We shot basically everything at 24p. When I imported, it auto-detected the camera settings and imported at 30fps. I edited the entire film at 30fps. Am I screwed?
