exporting uncompressed file limit

When I try to export an uncompressed video file to an external drive (so that I can compress it for DVD) I can't seem to export any file over about 1.9 gigs in size. Is this a parameter I can change in Avid? I have a giant (250 gig) external drive, so I'd like to be able to export uncompressed video/audio of any file size.

Thanks anyone!

Sounds like you're exporting as .avi, XPro still (at least up to 4.x) uses .avi type 1 which has a 2 gig limit. Try Quicktime Animation and you should have no problem with file size. However, some DVD encoding software may not like Quicktime. There are workarounds if you have this problem, you can always convert to .avi type 2 which has no gig limit after you export from XPro. Quicktime Pro can do this.

That being said, export as QuickTime reference from your project which is much faster, then use QuickTime Pro to create whatever format your encoder supports. If QuickTime, use the reference file directly.
