What a weird subject title...
I'm exporting a video, shot on 5d, edited in PR422, from FCP and like most of us I'm experiencing the gamma shift issues with the QT exporting video. Specifically where my footage appears too bright, noisy and lacking contrast, due to the gamma boost.
I've been playing around in Compressor to try to use some of the filters there to get the footage accurate, about to do the same in MPEG Streamclip. I can apply a bit of black restore + brightness/contrast to get things looking the same, but I'm also seeing a shift to the colour Red, in essence where Browns become more Golden, which is throwing off my CC and skin tones.
I've not seen any writing before about this Red channel shift, only the gamma issues, so I was wondering if it's just my eyes and what I can do about it etc.
