I dont know what the deal is but "compressor" will not work on my computer....it gives me some sort of "unable to connect to background process" error which i am baffeled by.....
Anyways, I was wondering what is the best way to export HD video out of final cut pro 5 for playback on DVD ?

I have mpeg streamclip

It would be helpful to learn some specifics about your set up.

OS, FCP and QT version numbers. Computer model and speed, RAM, etc.

It would be better to troubleshoot the Compressor issue than discover a different path to encoding.

I am using Final cut studio 5.1.4

<MAC OSX version 10.5.5 (leopard)

Processor 2.5 GHz intel core 2 duo

memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

I have tried re installing compressor in the past and it didnt make a difference....

Simply reinstalling will not solve your problem. What might work (it did for me) is completely uninstalling Compressor and all related files using one of the uninstall apps out there like Appzap (sp?) and then reinstalling. When I had this problem, I actually uninstalled all of Final Cut Studio and then reinstalled all the applications. Haven't had the problem since.
