Hey fellas ... quick question:

when i export using qt conversion in fcp 4.5, and then upload to my server, my vids automatically start playing. is there an option that will aloow the vid to load and let the user click play whenever he/she feels like watching?

In other words ... turn off "fast start"

here is an example of what i'd like to do ... just a still frame while vid loads, and then you click play whenever you want to watch:

Thanks a ton in advance!

This is not really a DVX grab post.

I don't think it has anything to do with the file but with the HTML code used to distribute your video when it is embeded in a web page.
Look at how to use: <param name="autoplay" value="false"> on the apple website:
http://developer.apple.com/quicktime/quicktimeintro/tools/embed.html

So, if you want to plublish a video "yourmadballvideo.mov", for a 448x252 video, you'd do something like this, that will also detect the quicktime plugin version:

<object ID="player" CLASSID="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B"
codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab"
align="baseline" border="0" width="448" height="267">
<PARAM NAME="type" VALUE="video/quicktime">
<param name="src" value="yourmadballvideo.mov">
<PARAM NAME="pluginspage" VALUE="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/">
<PARAM NAME="target" VALUE="myself">
<param name="autoplay" value="false">
<param name="controller" value="true">
<param name="loop" value="false">
<embed src="yourmadballvideo.mov"
controller="true"
name="player"
type="video/quicktime"
align="baseline"
target="myself"
border="0"
width="448"
height="267"
autoplay="true"
loop="false"
pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/">
</object>
