Exporting DVCProHD footage for internet

Maybe someone could help,

I'm having some issues exporting my first personal project with the camera so I can share it on myspace & youtube.

Shot in DVCProHD 720/24p, edited in Avid Xpress Pro 5.7 on my MacBookPro. Current length is approx. 6 min 30 sec.

I got the file down to a reasonable size, but it seems myspace and youtube are having issues with the 16:9 format, and I've been playing with the different settings for hours, with no luck, to try and get a "letterbox" export.

What export settings should I be using to export so Myspace doesn't crop and Youtube doesn't squeeze my video??

After editing, switch views to a 4x3 composer window.

Create another video track at the top of your timeline.

Apply a 16x9 letterbox reformat effect to that new track. You'll then see a 16x9 image within a 4x3 frame.

Duplicate your sequence for safety.

Mix down all the tracks of your duplicated sequence into V1, A1 & A2. Add those newly created tracks to a new sequence.

Export a 4x3 movie.

You should then basically have a 4x3 framed movie file that is letterboxed as 16x9.
