Exporting Audio for Pro Tools on separate computer

I keep trying this. Yet another task in Avid I haven't done before. But I'm not getting the expected result.

The Pro Tools guy seems to be expecting ONE file. A single file, that is. But no matter how I export my audio, I end up with multiple files. Looks like a sequence file and then some additional media files in a folder.

All I'm trying to do is give him the audio track to clean up. And it would help if he could see the edit points (so he knows when one audio clip ends and another begins).

Any suggestions?

That's what supposed to be, isn't? You 're temporary placing the audio with your cuts and exporting it via OMF or AAF file. Those Protools guys will be more happy to take care of the final audios. They could even "Consolidate" those different audios into one if they would love to. That's so simple for them. I don't think you done anything wrong.

Pro Tools has a bug importing embedded .AAF files. if he wants an embeded audio file, use .OMF instead.

I have never had a problem using .AAF files with protools that reference media in a separate folder. As long as the editor sends the folders.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up having to export WAV files. I'll have to do more research into what sort of Avid files are best for a Pro Tools import on a different system/computer.

Unless the PT rig has DigiTranslator on it, the operator will NOT be able to open .omf/.aaf files. On PT/LE they have to buy the DV Toolkit, and on HD they have to buy DigiTranslator.
