Exporting a timeline

Now this is weird as hell for sure. I sware AVID hates me and gives all the problems that it can make to me! The duration of the timeline is just 16:42:06 so its not really very big and im trying to export to ANYTHING so I can use EASY CD CREATOR (yeah, thats the crap that the air force gives us to make DVD MENU & VIDEOS with) to make a DVD of it. Im trying AVI with Cinepak codec with the quality at like 50 percent because last night at 100, when I got back to work today, it said the file size limit has been exceeded. So at 50% it went through and got to the "Exporting AVI audio w/SR Conversion" and it keeps blinking at 0% for the last hour. Anyone know why?

Export as QT Ref and use Sorenson to encode to AVI, WMV, QT, whatever. Trust me, that will make your life easier.

Don't use AVI files. Avid supports AVI-s up to 2GB...no such limitation with MOV files. Your 16:42:06 file takes approx. 3,7GB, so big enough...
Solution: export MOV (Quick Time Movie) and if nessesary convert it afterwards to OpenDML AVI whitch supports files greater than 2GB.
And NEVER use Cinepak codec...this is very old and crappy thing. There are numerous good DV codecs, MainConcept for example.

Thanks. I think I will do the QT Ref and then switch to Sorenson to encode um.. everything I do, I output to dvd so im guessing use Sorenson to do MPEG 2 huh or what?

PS, the 0% after 2 hours ended up finishing but yeah, terrible quality but oh well. LOL It was just an outtakes reel of our Wing Commander for just comedy viewing type thing!
