Hi everyone,
I posted about this a while ago and I still can't get my crap to work no matter what I do. I really need to make this work like it used to, but for some reason it just doesn't want to.
My Problem:
Edited projects have crumby audio when exported back to tape. By this I mean there are clicks and crackling noises being sent to the miniDV tape along with the actual audio.
Everything worked fine for over a year and I was able to send my projects to tape with good audio and no problems. Then all the sudden, the audio that was getting sent back to the miniDV turned to crap. I tried everything there is to figure out what is causing this crappy audio problem.
First, I uninstalled then re installed Premiere Pro 2.0...no luck.
Then I thought maybe it was the camera, because it was a old Canon miniDV camera I dropped multiple times so maybe that was messing everything up, so I plugged in my DVX, and it didnt change a thing, the sound still had crackling noises in it. Then I thought maybe it was the Radio Shack Firewire, since I had it for about five years. So I bought a Monster Cable Firewire from B&H, and that didnt change anything. So I thought maybe it was my firewire card (I am on a laptop so normally I just pop the card into the slot on the side of the computer when I want to edit). So I bought a new firewire card which I just returned later because it didn't change anything. THEN, I whiped out the entire computer hoping that the problem was being caused by something that got messed up somewhere on the harddrive, so I re installed Premiere Pro 2.0 and it still didnt change anything. So, I installed Premiere Pro 1.5, which also did nothing.
I was finally about to give up and throw my laptop out the window when I decided to export my video as a movie, uncompressed. I did this, and the file had no problems and sounded fine. I opened up Windows Movie Maker, imported the file into it, and sent it to the camera tape, and it worked. There were no more alien sounds with my video. Except, the file was like 9GB and sometimes Windows Movie Maker lagged when it was sending back but the original problem was gone.
I also did the same thing with Sony Vegas 7, and no audio problems were heard.
I really hope someone has some sort of tips about this situation because it drives me insane that I have to do all these extra hard and long steps just to get my videos back onto my master DV tape. I am wondering if it is some sort of setting that only Adobe has trouble with since the simplest of editing software (Movie Maker) doesnt have a single problem.
I don't know what else would cause this to happen all the sudden.
My laptop is a Dell XPS M170. 2 Gigs RAM - 2.0mhz speed - Nvidea GeForce 7800 - 80Gig HD with 2 externals.
Here is a sample of the stuff I hear when I export to tape from Adobe. Headphones might help you hear the noises.

And here is what it should sound like:

Be aware that there are static like sounds in the song, but you can tell which are meant to be in the song and which are not.
If anyone has any idea what is going on with my stuff, please help me.
Please.
I'm begging you.
