Export through Quicktime Zoomed in compared to MPEG-4

Hey guys, I'm new here. I heard this is the best forum for Film Making. So i joined! I want to maximize my skills in Film Making.

Anyways my main question or problem I'm having is (Sorry if this has been asked before)

Whenever I export through Mpegstreamclip or FCP 7 with Export to Quicktime option and choose Apple Pro Res 422LT.
I review the footage. It's zoomed in a tad bit compared to when i export to MPEG-4 and it shows the full video.

I just want the right colors/quality that's why I want to export through quicktime and Pro Res 422LT.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

Thanks,

Mark

As you see one is in .MOV file and one is .MP4
notice the difference in aspect ratio? .MOV is zoomed in a bit. The other is the full resolution (Non Zoomed)

Any help is appreciated.

My timeline/project is always at 1920x1080 Apple Pro Res 422 LT 24fps

Then the best export you have is simply File>Export>Quicktime Movie. Leave it at the default "current project settings" and select "make movie self-contained.". If you're exporting using QT Conversion, or something else, and setting it to ProRes, then you're forcing a conversion that isn't necessary.

Thanks Alex, I think i may have gotten it now :)

WHat I'm doing now is Exporting Using Quicktime Conversion > h.264
so it's still in .MOV file and the size isn't as big, same crop factor as the .MP4 i had up there in the screenshot. and Colors looks right

Again, export at current project settings, self-contained. Then, quit FCP and launch Compressor or MPEG StreamClip and do the conversion there.
