Export for After Effects

I don't know if this topic has already been discussed but I searched for quite a while and nothing came up. Here's the deal: I'm working on a short film and I'm trying to add some special effects to it. I use FCP 5 to edit and After Effects CS3 for the FX. I tried exporting my footage (from FCP) as a quicktime movie using the quicktime conversion to use it on after effects. I added the FX and exported the vide (the same way I exported it from FCP) and when I imported it to FCP I noticed some quality loss on the image and colors. I'll add screenshots of both if someone could please help me with this :Drogar-Smoke(DBG):

This thread should probably be moved to After Effects.

In any case, you've compressed your video twice. That takes its toll. But, frankly, I didn't notice a huge difference between your two images, maybe just some darkening in his face. Of course, to get it out of FCP, you'll need to compress again.

Automatic duck is what you want to work between FCP and AE. There was a thread about it recently. Or use Premiere.
