I am expecting identical twins this fall. Any advice or tricks? yes, these are my first children :cheesy:

Congrats!!! Stock up on EVERYHTING as soon as you know everything is all good with the babies. And I mean STOCK UP on Diapers, Onesies, Socks, Wipes, Lotion, Baby Bath, etc. I would skip buying formula until you find out which type the babies will be able to eat unless she is breast feeding.

Have as many baby showers as you can, we had two and got a TON of stuff for free. Register at Wal Mart, Target, Burlington etc. Get a couple of swings too, those things will save your life.

Good luck and have fun. The first 3 months were hell from lack of sleep, but the rewards are so worth it.
also get with the grandmoms now and set up a day where they can watch them for a few hours so you can get some rest.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) And do a whole lot of Googling!

lol awesome advice! Thank you. We were thinking of having everyone that comes to the babyshower to not only bring a gift but 1 package of diapers too.

Busted, Matt. LMAO! Congrats lhdor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Infant and Child first aid and CPR. Not trying to be a buzzkill, but this is SO important. Both parents, and other family members should take the class. Make it a group thing.

Again, congrats!

Don't skimp on a double stroller. Get a strong, jogging type. We don't have twins but did have our first two 17 months apart. The first double stroller we bought wasn't cheap; however, it was difficult to maneuver and not built to withstand abuse; a main support eventually snapped. Our next was a Baby Trend; after eight years and five kids, it's in fine shape and we're going to sell it.

Also, it's difficult at first, but get them on a schedule ASAP. Happy mommy = happy babies.

Enjoy your last summer of freedom for some time.

Congratulation!

Baby-proof the house now.... electrical outlet, cabinet doors, stairs, toilets...get it out of the way because you are going to be a busy zombie soon (but in a real good way). This goes for the car too, switch those door locks to child-proof.

Get a really good rocking chair and keep a CD player (boom box) with some nice classical music and a remote right by the chair.

Get a really good diaper pail, they make the ones that seal each 'deposit' to keep the smell down.

Other than that... try to relax and enjoy the young years...take the time to bond. Before you know it, they will be off to college and you'll only hear from them when they need money!

Cheers!

I thought you were going on a date with two girls... damn... well... congrats anyway.

Thanks funny...a friend of mine said she was 'expecting twins' just prior to her getting breast implants.

....and let me just say... those were a pair of VERY healthy twins! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG):Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I am literally writing this all down. Great advice. I didn't know about the jogging strollers being way better. I thought they would be clunky cause they are so wide, but what you say makes sense. Diaper genie was going to go on my registry. Hopefully that will help with the stink. otherwise i can put newspapers down right? :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
Zaza, congrats to your friend's, um healthy "twins" lol.

Take good care of the missus. Twins almost always come earlier than single pregnancies. You want them to stay in there as long as possible.

Yes be sure to take care of the missus ihdor... after all you want the twins to grow up healthy and with the standard two mothers. (hmm... who didn't read the rest of the thread?)

1. Gratefully accept all of the help that you can get. Then, ask for more.
2. Take lots of pictures and videos, no matter how hard it will be.
3. Forget about having a clean house or an organized life for about 18 years.
4. Take your real job less seriously. You have more important work to do.
5. Forget about normal. That's over.
6. Schedule an outing every now and then for your sanity.
7. Go to Disneyworld when they are two or three. Priceless.
8. Enjoy every minute.

Twins Survivor...........so far.
