Exfaf for Mac and windows

Trying to find a way I can switch between Mac and windows down with large hard drives. Is exfat formatting a viable option?

No exfat doesn't have the same file size limits. I think it's limited somewhere in the exabyte range.

Is this a new feature/function? I swear I posted somewhere about this several years ago and was basically told "can't be done."

I use both Windows (desktop) and Mac (laptop) and have formatted all my drives as ExFAT. They can be used on either operating system with no issues. I have several external USB3 drives and a Thunderbolt 2 RAID drive and switch operating systems all the time.

It's totally doable, and works like a charm. Just format them as ExFAT (make sure there's nothing important on the drive before formatting it!)

I also do this with zero issues. Works great.
