Excellent Footage

I was on Youtube and I spotted this film that was made with the dvx100a: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOeWAkL6yMg
I was wondering does anyone know what settings to put the dvx100a at to get the lighting out side to look like their first outside shot with the sun behind the stairs and when he is walking past the screen? Does anyone know how to blow out the lighting like that?

I personally don't see what was so 'excellent' about it. That's pretty much what you get when you take the camera outside, properly white-balanced. Maybe they added a filter in post, but it doesn't really look like it.
